Watching a video of a team maxing, and kid is doing like 500 squat, & he’s sticking, and spotter just helps juuuust a bit.
And I think how most people would come down on the kid and say how it doesn’t count blah blah.
And I’m just like, was it safe? Did they get good enough depth? Then who cares if the spotter helped with 5-10lbs?
We aren’t training professional power lifters.
That confidence boost may help that kid be more physical in practice. I know it helped me when I first hit what I thought was heavy lifts.

Guys are way more athletic, better accel, way more explosive, more than ever… skill, 👁️, decision making, decel much lower… skill is the right answer here.. bc speed, strength, explosiveness means nothing until it’s in the context of football

HS guys getting offered…when that coach offers, ask if u can commit..see right then if it’s a committable offer..bc let me tell u, a vast majority aren’t. Many schools have thrown offers out this yr to get some good HS attention bc the portal..when they aren’t taking those kids
