I reviewed a paper with my daughter’s 4th grade last year and thoroughly enjoyed their seriousness, curiosity, and illuminating questions (e.g. “What does it mean to ‘code’ a video?”, “What is the Tree of Life?”). I can highly recommend it!
Replying to @LibertySays
Just also saw that Bob Knight and Sabine Kastner were selected as co-recipients of the Award for Education in Neuroscience #sfn19 for their work with this journal. Congrats, it’s a great idea for #scicomm! It is surprisingly hard to write a jargon-free article!

Obligatory picture of poster presenter (SG Kim) vowing the audience!
2nd chance @Neurosci2019: SG (Seung-Goo) Kim will be presenting our poster (K5) on "MEG correlates of periodicity relevant to pitch perception in human auditory cortex" at Monday's poster session at 8 am.

Unsolicited advice: always finish your postdoc projects. Otherwise, years later, your own postdoc will take it up and use much fancier analysis methods! Come visit Seung-Goo Kim’s poster #28 @apanhearing on correlates of pitch using MEG!

Are you planning to execute a study with Amazon MTurk? Then this new paper is very helpful, showing that MTurk data quality has considerably decreased from 2014-2018 and that better/other quality checks are needed to obtain reliable and valid samples journals.sagepub.com/doi/pdf…

1/n @Neurosci2019 attendees, in prep for this year’s mtg, I thought I’d share a few tid bits about how to get around the city for those of you headed to Chicago. As you will see, I love walking, public transportation, food & drinks. Saving the science for the mtg #SfN2019 🏙️
