I somehow managed to finish a skin for the Spy Tech theme for @CounterStrike just in time. The idea was a treehouse outfitted as a surveillance base. I didn’t have much time, but overall I’m satisfied with the result. With this piece, I’m ending my career as a CS2 workshop creator. I spent 5 years of my life making skins and stickers, mostly lenticular stickers. Even though I only partially achieved my main goal, I still want to thank the Valve of the past for giving me that opportunity. I’ve only just realized that the @CounterStrike developers gave people themes for future collections that will be bought out for a fixed $35,000, but unlike previous contests, they didn’t specify which weapons would be included. As a result, people are making skins for all kinds of weapons, with no guarantee that the specific weapon they choose will actually be needed.😬

It took me a long time to make this... Probably because I went deep into experiments, but the project is finally coming to an end. I really wanted to create an AK-47 skin based on the principles of the golden ratio, and this is the result. For @CounterStrike

Of course, everyone wants to get into a capsule with royalties. It’s exactly because of royalties that many skin-makers and sticker-makers were able to afford spending so much time creating something new. And while there’s still at least some hope of getting into a weapon case, getting into a sticker capsule feels almost hopeless now - and the income from capsules was already small compared to cases. Especially when tournament stickers come out and completely overshadow community capsules. In a typical year, because of the Majors, there are only about two or three months when sticker royalties actually feel decent.

This update is really great - getting to create skins and stickers for a fixed payment while knowing the theme in advance is awesome. It actually feels similar to contests like Dreams & Nightmares. The only thing that confuses me is the pricing for stickers. The rate for regular paper stickers is totally fine, but why do other sticker styles have the same price? Holographic stickers are much more complex to create - and lenticular ones are on a completely different level. Sometimes making a lenticular sticker takes even more time than making a whole weapon skin. If I didn’t have three years of experience and my own workflow already established, I wouldn’t even try making them for this price right now. I’d just spend all my time making weapon skins instead
