"Chemical emergencies may be rare, but when they do occur, every second counts." First responders and healthcare personnel from 23 countries came together for #CHEMEXGRULAC — the OPCW's first large-scale multi-component chemical emergency exercise in Latin America and the Caribbean. Chemical emergencies unfold rapidly and under highly chaotic conditions. At the same time, evolving technologies are reshaping the chemical security landscape and raising the complexity of threats that countries and responders face. Co-funded by the EU and the Governments of Canada and Spain, CHEMEX GRULAC is a demonstration of what multilateral cooperation looks like in practice — building the expertise, coordination and operational capabilities that countries need to respond effectively when it matters most.
