When downloading a csv from Baseball Savant 1) How would I specify a level other then MLB? or 2) specify a game_pk and have it hydrated with all the new columns? (bat_speed, swing_length, arm_angle, etc)

I have this R package called sabRmetrics that I wrote for me. It's good for downloading public data from Baseball Savant or the MLB Stats API, as well as estimating some fundamental models.

@gbrowniepoints Yes, Oneil Cruz appears inhuman in how hard he can hit a ball - but before Statcast there was The Cobra. I was behind homeplate 17 Sep 1978 when I thought he was going to take Rudy May's head off - but ball cleared fence in CF. baseball-reference.com/boxes…

The other thing in that game - Gary Carter led off the 7th and had 2 strikes when Blyleven called Ed Ott to the mound, where he handed over ball & glove. "I have to go to the bathroom" Several minutes later Blyleven returned, tying his belt, then thru one more pitch for the K.

Pirates/Cubs combined to throw 93 pitches in 5th inning. Paul Skenes, Kyle Nicolas, John Fleming and Colin Holderman threw 55 pitches in the top half, with a hit batter and 6 walks, 4 with the bases loaded, for 7 runs. In the bottom half Keegan Thompson threw 38, 2 walks, 3 runs.

C/1B Endy Rodriguez is reported to be promoted tomorrow by the Pirates, along with SP Quinn Priester and MIF Liover Peguero. MIF Tucupita Marcano & C Jason Delay are presumably the odd men out.

Peguero is making the best contact of his career his also lowest BABIP. Like Endy, perhaps making too good of contact, putting marginal balls in play that become easy outs. Peguero's BB% has bounced back and HR% is MLB avg. Expect 250/295/420 (better than Marcano worse than Cruz)

On Peguero's defense - good range at SS but makes errors both on bobbles and bad throws. May be better suited for 2B where he'd have more time to recover & get the batter at first.
