Court Update. Cross-examination has ended for the 3rd Prosecution Witness, Madam Mildred Donkor, in Republic v Kwabena Adu Boahene & 2 Ors (Cybersecurity software case). Counsel for the accused, Samuel Atta Akyea Esq. ended his questioning on a Biblical note by quoting Exodus 20:16 and reading it text-“Thou shall not bear false witness against your neighbor” To this, the Witness responded on a proverbial note: “My Lord, a frog that is coming out of the water to tell you that the crocodile is dead and the dog that is walking on the surface of the earth, who will you believe. I said the truth and I said what I know.” Madam Mildred Donkor who was the Banker of the accused persons and a Director of their companies was initially charged with the accused persons but was later withdrawn and made a prosecution witness when she offered to testify for the state. Her evidence in summary consisted of the details of the transactions and transfers of various amounts involving the GHc49.1 million alleged to have been stolen by the accused persons. Court Update: Court dismisses motion to withdraw legal services filed by Counsel for A1 and A3 in Republic v Bernard Antwi Boasiako & 2 Ors (Samreboi illegal mining case). The Court reasoned that the motion is not supported by any rule of court or judicial decision. In criminal matters, Counsel needs no leave of the Court to withdraw services. That is an issue between him and his Client. Additionally, Motion was not even served on Client. Court reiterates that judgement in the case remain fixed for July 3, 2026 but has extended time for addresses, if any, to be filed by parties on or before 24th of June 2026. #ORALUpdates.
