More than ten years ago, the first delivery of liquefied natural gas arrived at the LNG terminal in Świnoujście. This coincides with the 10th anniversary of the first American LNG shipments to Europe. Over the past decade, ORLEN has consistently strengthened the Polish–American energy partnership. 🇵🇱 🇺🇸
2025 was a record year, with the ORLEN Group receiving a total of 81 LNG cargoes, of which as many as 62 originated from the United States.
👉 On Saturday, representatives of the National Energy Dominance Council (NEDC) at the White House, the US Embassy in Poland, the Ministry of Energy, ORLEN, and Gaz-System toured the Świnoujście terminal. The site visit provided an opportunity to take stock of our collaboration and deepen a partnership that enhances the energy security of Poland and Europe. The NEDC delegation was led by Jarrod Agen, Executive Director of the NEDC and Deputy Assistant to the President of the United States. He was joined by Wojciech Wrochna (Secretary of State at the Ministry of Energy), Przemysław Ciszak (Chair of the ORLEN S.A. Supervisory Board), and Robert Soszyński (Vice President of the ORLEN S.A. Management Board, Operations). Together with the other members of the delegation, they toured the LNG terminal and the moored Ignacy Jan Paderewski, one of ORLEN's eight gas carriers, which transports LNG from the United States.
👉 Strong ties, the growing integration of gas markets in Central and Eastern Europe, and access to global LNG supply are unlocking new opportunities. Demand for flexible LNG solutions is rising markedly, and the Poland–Ukraine gas corridor is gaining in importance. The figures confirm this: contracted gas volumes shipped along this route since April last year will have reached 750 mcm by the end of this quarter.
👉 In Poland, LNG now accounts for more than half of total gas imports. ORLEN has also booked 100% of the regasification capacity at the FSRU terminal under construction in Gdańsk Bay. We anticipate the number of LNG deliveries to Poland will increase in the coming years.
