I want to give a big shout out to our student volunteers at the Open House Saturday - they did a fantastic job, and our Physics program wouldn't be the same without them! Thanks Blessing, Julian, and Darryen. @OT_FSc @ontariotech_u

Fantastic that the #NobelPrize2019 in #physics goes to astronomy and astrophysics! Both are highly deserving of a #NobelPrize but I don’t know if you could pick two more different projects in astro to share one prize. 1/3
BREAKING NEWS: The 2019 #NobelPrize in Physics has been awarded with one half to James Peebles “for theoretical discoveries in physical cosmology” and the other half jointly to Michel Mayor and Didier Queloz “for the discovery of an exoplanet orbiting a solar-type star.”

But our best feature is our small size and engaging faculty. That means students get lots of opportunity to go beyond the classroom -- attend conferences, perform research in the summer, and work as a TA. Plus, every student is encouraged to do a thesis in their last year.
