Michael Ciancone, a NASA engineer, spoke to groups of students from around the OVAC last week. Ciancone was the Lead Safety Engineer on the Artemis II mission that took place from April 1-11. He visited students from Clay-Battelle, Fort Frye, Wheeling Central, Wheeling Park, Shadyside and Toronto during multiple days. We thank Mr. Ciancone for taking time with our students and visiting the Ohio Valley!

The 2026 Ohio Valley Basketball Coaches Association Boys and Girls Elite Showcase will take place on Sunday, July 26 at the ECO Center in St. Clairsville. The top 40 boys and girls basketball players from the OVAC will take part in drills, skill stations, and pick-up games in front of college coaches and scouts. The 2025 event had over a dozen colleges represented at the event. Players who are interested are to contact their high school coaches for more information. Additional information will be sent to interested colleges and will be posted on the OVAC social media platforms. We look forward to a great 2026 Elite Showcase on July 26!

The OVAC Basketball Committee would like to thank Cameron High School, teacher, Holly Pettit, and her food prep class for their help during the 2026 OVAC Basketball Championships! The class helped prepare over 300 sack lunches for all of the teams that participated in the basketball championships in February. Cameron High School also helped prepare the game day programs for the championships. OVAC Assistant Basketball Commissioner Donnie Giffin recently visited Cameron to provide participating students lunch and OVAC merch as a thank you. We look forward to their help with the 2027 OVAC Basketball Championships!
