Hot take: MLB rushed the A’s out of Oakland for a Vegas deal that still doesn’t add up.
Costs ballooning, funding unclear (and unproven) and fans were told this was “certain.” That’s not a plan. That’s a gamble.
Now is the time to demand accountability.

Every ticket purchased in Sacramento or Las Vegas sends the same message to ownership and MLB:
Relocation works.
Fans can be abandoned. Communities can be discarded. Decades of loyalty can be ignored.
And as long as people keep showing up, owners will keep using the same playbook over and over again.

Major League Baseball will spend the coming years celebrating the history of the A’s franchise in an attempt to legitimize the relocation. But honoring the past does not excuse what happened in the present.
The reality is that this move was manufactured through years of leverage, shifting demands, and a process that left fans, workers, and an entire community behind. Celebrating the history while ignoring how that history was severed is not accountability.
If MLB truly respects the legacy of the Athletics, it should be willing to answer tough questions about how one of baseball's most historic franchises was removed from the East Bay. Until then, the story remains incomplete.

Yet the A’s can’t even sell out their own minor league stadium…
Taxpayers were asked to take the risk. The people making the promises never had to.

We are witnessing sports teams fleece cities for taxpayer money, or simply leave when they don't get it.
That is not what sports is about.
Sports are supposed to unite communities, create memories, and give fans something to believe in. Instead, too many owners treat cities like bargaining chips and fans like leverage.
The entitlement is staggering.
Enough excuses. Enough threats. Enough public subsidies for private profit.
