The author depicts a future society where the word “I” has been erased, independence is treated as a sin, excellence is punished, and virtue means obedience, conformity, and self-sacrifice.
In this reading group, instructor Matheus Pacini will lead a deep dive into independence, collectivism, and what it means to think for yourself.
The course starts on June 2, 2026, with weekly live sessions on Tuesdays from 12:00–1:30pm PT. Sessions are interactive on Zoom, and full recordings will be available if you can’t attend live.
