Don't really agree with the way it's phrased here, however, it is true that with the role social media occupies now when it comes to word of mouth every good-great movie that comes out WILL be someone's first good-great movie, sometimes for a LOT of people

Movie was good but they definitely overrating it lol I feel people simply don’t watch enough movies so they be blown away by something just being above average.

Happened with Nolan's Dark Knight, for a lot of people growing up in the 2000's it was basically the first introduction to a "auteur cinema" adjacent project thanks to it being a comic book film, same thing happens now for movies that get popular on social media
