The religious and political leaders (shepherds) secured their positions among God’s people (the sheep), through personal and political connections, formal education, ambition, manipulation, and corruption. In John 10, Jesus Christ spoke out boldly against them.

What I admire about the British 🇬🇧 is their exceptional grasp and responsible application of stewardship in managing public and private properties, employment, investments, and the resources under their care. Stewardship shapes legacy.

Samaritans are always good. On the phone, they talk you through. In the US, there is Good Samaritan legislation to protect people who help others. Samaritans are good because they do good and the rest doesn’t matter much. If the whole village is bad, you be the good Samaritan

In the kingdom of job opportunities. Do not be foolish. Do not carry the lamp (skills) without the oil (competence). Be wise. Carry both the lamp (skills) and the oil (competence), for one without the other will not take you far. Always be prepared.

Take away 1 kobo from 1 million what is left? Answer = N999,999.99 Never underestimate one kobo; it can be the difference between becoming a millionaire and remaining a thousandnaire. That is the true value of one kobo.

Mutual recognition and mobility of academic degrees: Key benefits; â—‹ Student mobility. â—‹ Labor mobility. â—‹ Globalization. Intelligence is not the ability to know everything, but the ability to know how to learn.

Prodigal Son and Elder Brother: The Prodigal son was lost and knew it. The elder brother was lost and didn't know it. Both sons misunderstand the father: One runs away. The other stays, but with a hardened heart.

Nobody is good at start. Nobody is bad after 1000 attempts. This is growth mindset and mastery through repetition.

People's words, ideas, beliefs, behaviour, mistakes, actions and their consequences are not your responsibility. Your words, ideas, beliefs, behaviour, mistakes, actions and consequences are your responsibility. Take responsibility Now.

Maps: For research, maps go beyond identifying problems; they are powerful tools that shape questions, uncover patterns, and guide solutions. Maps are not just passive records of spatial data; they are active instruments of research.

Away from the house, not from the Father: You may walk away from the house, but never walk away from the Father. The prodigal son left the house, yet his heart never fully left the Father—and that is why he was able to return.

When applying for a PhD or postdoctoral fellowship, understand the program’s core focus. For example, climate analysis in Geography emphasises spatial analysis, while the same topic in a Business School focuses on investment behaviour.

Isaiah 45: Cyrus didn’t even know the LORD, yet God could anoint him, guide him, bless him, and use him. How much more should God be able to do through those who have at least a mustard seed’s worth of faith in Him. God can work in and through others in very unexpected ways.

Correlation ≠ Causation ○ Social media & happiness. ○ Exercise & weight loss. ○ Studying & good grades. ○ Expensive products = Better quality. ○ Rain & traffic accidents. Correlation is not always causation; two things together don't mean one caused the other.

Today my heart is filled with deep joy as we announce the Expression of Interest for the National Digital Economy Research Clusters— a ₦12 billion research funding scheme designed to place ideas, evidence, and research at the centre of Nigeria’s digital transformation. This programme is being funded under Project BRIDGE, our initiative to deploy 90,000km of fibre optic backbone infrastructure across Nigeria to expand connectivity and enable a modern digital economy. As we deepen our digital infrastructure coverage , thoughtful evidence based approaches are required to be deployed in society to ensure everyone benefits from this significant investment. Too often, the ideas shaping digital policy come predominantly from markets and political cycles rather than from research, evidence, and long-term thinking. A quote that captures this sentiment comes to mind: “The state of a society is a reflection of the ideas that dominate it — when good ideas spread, nations prosper; when bad ideas prevail, nations decay.” Through this programme, Nigeria will establish six national research clusters across key pillars of the digital economy: • Connectivity, Access, and Meaningful Use • Digital Public Infrastructure and Digital Government • Digital Skills, Education, and Human Capital • Digital Economy, Jobs, and Livelihoods • Trust, Safety, Consumer Protection, and Online Harms • Artificial Intelligence and Emerging Technologies These research clusters will be led by up to 36 distinguished professors, from 36 Nigerian universities working with international academic partners. Across the clusters, over 200 researchers, including Postdoctoral Fellows and PhD candidates will generate rigorous, policy-relevant research to guide Nigeria’s digital economy for years to come. For me, the goal goes beyond research output. We are looking for better policies that lead to stronger institutions and a more prosperous society. Despite the scale of the other initiatives we are delivering at the Ministry, this is one of the most meaningful to me personally, because it plants seeds that will grow long after any one administration. If you are part of an academic or research institution committed to producing rigorous, policy-relevant research, you can review the Terms of Reference (TOR) in the EOI we are releasing today here - b.link/EOI-NDULRC and submit proposals to lead and participate in these national research clusters. Because nations that lead the future are not simply those that deploy infrastructure — they are the ones that cultivate ideas. In the coming week, we will host a press conference to further elaborate on this announcement. I encourage Vice-Chancellors of universities across Nigeria to look out for detailed information and engagement opportunities. #NigerianExcellence
