I’m especially excited about this Jump Source album. Hits the sweet spot with the rubbery house grooves and the dreamy late night drive feel that I look for jumpsource.bandcamp.com/albu…
No one has captured what being in your 40s and truly besotted with techno is like quite like @0PN here (on John Beltran):
"I got into a period of critical thinking about techno that I'm still totally immersed in. Over the past few years, no single genre has been more important to me. It's what I listen to every chance I get, particularly a lot of mid-'90s, early 2000s stuff....
I don't know what it means—and I don't even know if I care what it means—but the song definitely feels like being in your 40s. You're in the weird, middle valley of your life. It's all anticipation and no revelation. You finally figured out you're not going to figure it out, and you are just finally, in a way, present. You're right there watching every moment happen. You've given up on certain kinds of dreams, and finding out that's not necessarily a bad thing. Or at least I have. All I know is I feel very close to the source when I listen to this. And if that's not a forty-something thing to prioritize, I don't know what is."
Before Daniel Lopatin—the artist better known as Oneohtrix Point Never— became known for his intricate electronic production and nail-biting scores for Uncut Gems and Marty Supreme, he was just a 10-year old really into Chick Corea

Album of the day : flying lotus you’re dead
My fav of his and easily one of my fav albums of the 2010’s. Even after all these years, there’s still new details and surprises to be found after each listen. Never gets old
Here’s 30 albums I enjoyed in 2025. I’d say the top 2 rows are my 10 favs of the year. The rest in no order, all fantastic. I can’t even imagine how much good stuff I still haven’t heard from this year and that’s exciting. So please, if you have any recs drop them below

8th time seeing Deerhoof live and this was easily a top 3 performance I’ve seen from them. Everybody knows Greg is a beast on drums and the guitar playing is otherworldly but can we give it up for Satomi’s dancing? 💃
The best month is here 🎃 🍂 Halloween, scary movies, family birthdays (including mine tmrw), better weather, & the return of basketball. Oh, and I get to see my favorite band Deerhoof live this wknd just a few steps from my place. My hood in Denton is doing it right as usual…
