@RoniGoldberg9 and I took part in some of the first Pride events in
#TelAviv. Back then, they were small gatherings of brave individuals who refused to hide and demanded the right to live openly and equally.
Since then, Israel has undergone a remarkable transformation. LGBTQ Israelis serve openly in every sphere of society. Legal protections have expanded, social acceptance has grown, and Pride events are now held across the country - from Tel Aviv and Jerusalem to Haifa, Be’er Sheva, and many other communities.
Today, hundreds of thousands of Israelis and tourists filled the streets of Tel Aviv in one of the world's largest Pride celebrations. In a region too often associated with intolerance, they gathered to celebrate love, freedom, dignity, and the right of every person to be who they are.
My heart is with everyone who marched today in Tel Aviv. I wish the
#LGBTQ community what it has always sought for itself: the ability to live freely, to love and be loved, and to extend to others the same understanding, acceptance, and humanity it rightly expects in return.
Happy
#Pride. 🌈
