Working with #LAMP or tired of the mystery around raw Ct values in #qPCR?
Meet LAMPrey – our new open-source tool for better analyzing qLAMP & qPCR data. It replaces Ct with the inflection cycle threshold (iCt) 🧵
New paper: Early-life heat stress boosts DNA repair in single zebrafish embryos - but add their stressed peers, and the benefit vanishes.
As climate change increases heatwaves, we must understand how embryos handle stress in social environments.

@OdysysLab, we’re exploring how aquatic animals deal with climate stressors. From altered DNA repair in baby fish 🐟 to chemical stress signals that ripple through entire communities 🌊, it’s going to be a wild ride.
New paper alert! Check this out to learn how publicly available amphibian genomes vary in quality and repeat content. We also investigate synteny across all three amphibian orders 🐸🧬

new preprint 🧵: In the midst of a week of news coverage about the oceans aproaching the tipping point of becoming too acidic to sustain marine life, we still don't know how most of those species will actually respond to this. #oceanacidificationfrance24.com/en/live-news/20…
It's been a quiet but busy summer for the lab. Here are some news to celebrate!
* @SarenaBanu won a grant by NEOF to support her PhD project on the effect of heat stress on multicellular development with RNA sequencing data, which also includes training.
This means: we're hiring! We are looking for a project co-ordinator to replace Liam, who will be employed on a 50% basis and help with lab organisation and ordering, travel organisation, and liaising with animal care staff
This may be interesting for a recent graduate who’s already based at UCD, and wants to work in the academic environment while finishing up a paper maybe, or writing a grant. The candidate must be legally allowed to live and work in the Republic of Ireland. Initial contract 6 Mo.
