GOTW Recap: Cavs vs Raptors Cavs take game 5 at home in a close one. The Raptors played well but seemed to have a lid on the rim in the 4th quarter. Playoffs have been extremely entertaining so far.

NBA Prospect Spotlight: Darryn Peterson DP is a bucket getter and tough shot maker. He’s my #2 after AJ. Darryn is solid on defense, can pass, and has no weaknesses. The off the court stuff worries me a little, but not enough to pass on him. Availability is the best ability.

“OffTheBench”Player of the Past: Nate Robinson Similar to DSJ (but way more effective), Nate Robinson was instant energy off the bench. Nate was quick, bouncy, and an all-around bucket.

Impact Player of the Past: Dennis Smith Jr. DSJ had an underwelmhing and short NBA career, but he brought the energy. High flying dunks and defensive plays can shift the momentum of the game quickly, and he did that a lot.

College Basketball Question of the Week Is the march madness expansion a good idea? Personally, I have not heard a single person say they like it. Why are we changing something that is damn near perfect?

Hypothetical of the Week Ben Simmons, Dyson Daniels, and Bronny James vs Victor Wembanyama and two mid major D1 bench players (6'2 guard & 6'8 big man), who wins? It's close I think but I got Wemby n them.

Would he start? Would Jabari Smith Jr start on the Magic? They could go small ball (or big). I think that'd be a good fit. He may need a new home, especially if the Rockets blow it up soon.

Random Player Spotlight: Peyton Watson I love Peyton's game. He fits so well with Jokic and Murray. The Nuggets need him healthy badly.

Hot Take of the Week Wemby is easily the best basketball player in the world. No question.

Shoutout Staff Position of the Week: Television Broadcasters This usually goes to someone on an NBA staff, but playoff broadcasters have been great. My favorite play by play is Mike Tirico and my favorite analyst is Stan Van Gundy. SVG cracks me up.

Could you see? Could you see Ayo Dosunmu being a full-time starting PG on a good team in the future?

Random Thought: The flex action that the Knicks have been running over and over again in games 4 & 5 has been great. How did they not figure out this sooner? Why don't more teams do this to force switches or get wide open dunks (if they refuse to switch)?

Ride the Pine Spotlight: Jeremy Sochan Sochan was waived by the Spurs in February and picked up by the Knicks. He doesn’t play in the rotation but brings energy off the bench. In Game 5 vs the Hawks, he checked in during garbage time and scored 10 points in 3 minutes on 4/4 FGs!

GOTW: Cavs vs Raptors (Game 5) Tied at 2-2. Can the Raptors outplay the Cavs for a third straight game? Or will the Cavs bounce back?
25
Rotation Spotlight: Thunder Mark Daigneault does a great job staggering rotations so there’s always a mix of starters, scorers, defenders, and bigs. Not every coach has OKC’s talent, but he maximizes what he has.

“OffTheBench” Team Spotlight: Magic Again, the Magic bench continues to impress me. Seriously, the 8 seeded magic and their solid 9 man rotation has been giving the Pistons problems. Tristan da Silva and Anthony Black would start on a number of teams.

NBA Question of the Week With Donte and Ant out, who has to step into a scoring role for the Wolves? Will Conley play more? Is it Bizzy's time to shine? Ayo? Naz?

Impact Performer of the Week: Karl Anthony-Towns Seems weird since KAT is an All Star, but he’s this week’s impact player. In a must win Game 4 vs the Hawks, he was everywhere and finished with a triple double. That kind of D and passing isn’t a daily thing for KAT. Way to play!

“OffTheBench” Performer of the Week: Ayo Dosunmu The guy had 43 points in a HUGE playoff game that Denver needed to win. Nuff said!
