Couldn’t agree more.

I hope people realize how impressive that was. To have the series he’s had, flush it, and come through in a huge moment at 22 years old is incredibly impressive.

Ty Johnson in AAA: 7 GS | 34 IP 1.85 ERA | 0.97 WHIP | 2.86 FIP 19.3% K-BB% | .232 wOBA 85.1 MPH Avg EV | 34.4% O-Swing% His limited arsenal, FB/SL mix with the occasional changeup, still leads me to believe he'll end up in the bullpen at the next level. That said, he's been dominant every step through the minors, and I could see him making an impact for the Rays this season. #RaysUp #MLB

Yandy is on pace to set a new career high in HR this season while still leading the AL with a .331 batting average. He’s hitting the ball in the air more than ever before (33.2% FB%) and using the middle of the field at a career-high rate (45.2% Cent%). #RaysUp #MLB
Yandy Díaz over his last 162 games: 30 HR I 30 2B 9.6% BB% I 13.2% K% .332/.406/.532 .938 OPS 160 wRC 5.5 fWAR 92.2 MPH Avg EV I .293 xBA Over that stretch, he's the 19th most valuable hitter in baseball. His wRC is also 5th among qualified hitters.

Updated stats for Cedric Mullins since the start of May: 122 PA 113 wRC .248/.356/.386 | .742 OPS 12.3% BB% | 15.6% K% 4 HR | 15 R | 13 RBI #RaysUp #MLB
Cedric Mullins in May: 60 PA 113 wRC .302/.362/.377 | .739 OPS 13.3% K% | 89.6% Z-Contact% 4 SB | 8 R | 6 RBI The swing decisions and batted ball profile have been fairly similar to what we’ve seen from him in previous years, so positive regression was bound to happen. The Rays are going to need Mullins to continue producing, especially with the recent injuries to Jake Fraley and Jonny DeLuca. #RaysUp #MLB

Theo Gillen smoked a no-doubt HR to left-center field for his 10th of the season. He’s now hitting .329 with a 1.028 OPS. This is a top-20 prospect in baseball.

This may be an unpopular opinion among Rays fans, but I'd prioritize adding a quality starting pitcher over a bat at the trade deadline, and here's why: The current rotation has been impressive, but there are still concerns about workload. McClanahan and Jax won't work deep into games this season. Rasmussen can go longer this year but will likely continue to be managed carefully, and the fifth spot is currently a question mark (Seymour maybe?). Adding a proven starter who can consistently give you 6-7 innings would help keep the bullpen fresh for late in the season, which has been an issue for Rays teams in the past. At their core, the Rays are built around pitching and defense. Rather than forcing a move for a bat and hoping it's the final piece, I'd lean into the team's identity and strengthen what has already made them successful. Some intriguing options I've thought about are Tarik Skubal, Freddy Peralta, Sandy Alcantara, Robbie Ray, or Logan Webb. All are proven starters who regularly work deep into games. Imagine a playoff rotation of: • One of those names • Rasmussen • McClanahan • Martinez/Jax That's a rotation capable of keeping you in any game. I also trust Neander to build an elite bullpen come playoff time. That being said, I'm not opposed to improving the lineup if it's a good fit and for the right price. It's also worth remembering that the platoon of Fraley/DeLuca should provide a boost for the lineup once both players are healthy. There is also the potential of Melton and Lux being contributors. Casey Legumina since becoming a Ray: • 17.1 IP • 2.08 ERA • 1.10 WHIP • 3.63 FIP • 83.7 MPH Avg. EV • 4.4% BB% (!!) Another great pickup by Neander. Legumina has helped stabilize a heavily used bullpen, and his ability to cover multiple innings has been huge. #RaysUp #MLB

Nick Martinez’s changeup has always been a pitch, but his location this season has taken it to another level. Entering tonight’s game, opponents had a .115 BA against the pitch with only 1 XBH. The left picture is his 2026 CH location and the right is from 2025. #RaysUp #MLB

Kimbrel’s sweeper is still an elite pitch and has been great against righties. He’s struggled a lot against lefties this season, and I think it would make sense for the Rays to develop a changeup for his arsenal, as they’ve done successfully with several other arms this season.
Craig Kimbrel’s pitch usage this season is interesting: 74.7% Fastball 15.9% Sweeper 9% Knuckle Curve The sweeper has been his best pitch, with a 36.4% whiff rate on it. It wouldn’t surprise me if the Rays had him increase the usage of that. Fastball 3/4 of the time when the velocity had dipped over the years doesn’t seem optimal.
