I think ......

I think social media is great for reminders and posting assignments etc. I super thank STEM for helping me learn how to use canvas and remind 101. I love those forms of communication with students.
So @MatthewTVaughn what do you see as beneficial from social media in your role? Just curious. #STEMInnovates
I disagree. I think people will loose the face to face skill if they continuously use social media as a form of communication. There is a skill to communicating, and one should practice it to be good at it - handshake, eye contact, body language, facial expressions .....
I am a huge advocate for face to face as well as phone. I think a lot is lost via technology communications.
I simply try to listen so I don't misunderstand directions. I try to listen to students so I can understand their needs.
Hello!!! This is Tarnae.

Hello!!! Tarnae here - I have used my innovators mindset to open up a canvas account and use it!!! I've put power points on there with voice overs!! Thank you Mrs. McLean for helping me move into the 21 Century!!!

#STEMInnovates - modeling - if one leads then others simply follow; but if one models, their pupils learn how to do it.

#STEMinnovates yes or sometimes I know a student knows the information, so I simply have him or her teach the topic.

#STEMinnovates listen to them, let them give their opinions, let them present their argument to a learning situation, let them teach

Do we have to do just one thing though? Isn't innovation all about experimenting, failing, and trying again? #STEMInnovates

#STEMInnovates there are so many cool things that technology brings as aids for teaching and student learning. It's hard to pinpoint one thing.
I love this idea of a "lack of something." Turns the idea of tools into more than just things.

#STEMinnovates the computer was invented!!! When I was in high school, I had to type papers on a typewriter! The computer makes paper writing and research so easy compared to the 70s and 80s! Has anyone tried to look stuff up in a card catalog drawer!?
Q1: @gcouros asks at the end of Chapter 1: "What has changed in our world today that not only makes innovation easier to do, but necessary for our students?" I want to know... what has changed that makes it necessary for us as educators? #STEMInnovates

#STEMInnovates Q3 - one thing that acts as a barrier to change is being comfortable, willing, and able to move out of ones comfort zone.

#STEMinnovates I'm not sure how that is possible. Students change and lessons need to change as well. I would never use a lesson I used 5 years ago. Too much has changed. I do however use basics from a lesson, but alter them based on the times and the needs of the students.

So many successful teachers use the same lessons year after year because they produce results. How does this situate in the mantra? #STEMInnovates
