Had the honor of taking a student school contest winner from one of my elementaries on a Ride to School this morning. She assured me that she would never again be in the back of a police vehicle and that someday, she wanted to be driving one. 💙

How Ofc Hernandez & I spent our 1st day of the new school year. Our favorite part of our jobs as SROs is the relationships that we build with our students and staff. The most important part of it is keeping them safe. Joint training days like this are essential to that endeavor.

I think it’s really cool how many SMSD grads are now SMSD employees. Three Rushton alums right here, two who currently teach 4th grade there and one District Resource Officer, who was super excited to speak to their classes today! ❤️🤍

As we are dealing with (hopefully) the last gasp of winter, I wanted to give a big shout out to the men & women of our custodial crew here at South & throughout the district. They’ve put in countless hours this winter, ensuring that we all stay safe on our campuses. Thank you!!!
