Great line-up I’ve just presented to a group of wine lovers; the Saffer Chardonnays showed well & were much enjoyed; 21 great Aus vintage too. Freshness, textural & flavour complexity subtle oak in all. @restlessriverRR@OliveHR@TesselaarsdalW
A Monday fine wine throw back remembering the late great Steven Spurrier as seen here with Anthony Hamilton Russell, another gent of the fine wine trade. 🙏🏼🍷🇿🇦
An embarrassment of riches at last night’s Seven Wineries multi-decade tasting. Absolute treasure trove of wines. What a privilege to taste them. #CapeWine2022
After a few days in the country and 2 days of tasting at the #capewine2022 wine fair, I can say this with great conviction. There is no more exciting wine region in the world right now than South Africa. The hundreds of wines I've tasted in the last 5 days have blown my mind.
Lose yourself in the wine: drifting through the aisles of @Hedonism_Wines in Mayfair, and discovering a solid South African selection amongst some heavyweight company… #DRLW
Good day discovering #HemelEnAarde with great visits, tasting and talks on just how far and fast this region is going to make sustainable, environmental Chardonnay & Pinot Noir amongst others. Pre @CapeWine2022 events off & running @WOSA_ZA@WOSA_UK. Good to be back.

I go simply elemental in the winter issue of Gourmet Guide. If you look close enough, a wine will reveal its place of origin in the glass, it’s a way of sending you a postcard from the summer it was bottled: simply signed, wish you were here. Pg. 66

Here is my report on an extraordinary tasting to celebrate 40 years of Hamilton Russell Pinot Noir, including the superlative first ever vintage;1981 the-buyer.net/tasting/wine/j…
The Hamilton Russells are true pioneers at their Hemel-en-Aarde estate in South Africa. To celebrate 40 years of making top end Pinot Noir they opened some amazing library bottles including 2 of the only 5 they have left of their 1st vintage, 1981. Click the-buyer.net/tasting/wine/j…
What a treat to drink 1981 Hamilton Russell Pinot Noir back to 1981 with @OliveHR & Anthony what a brilliant wine still vibrant meat juice dripping, raspberry essence, hints of a Braai, delicate perfume brick clear colour hints of refined aged Rioja (Bosconia) pure elegance
