Chief Minister attended the 11th Governing Council Meeting of NITI Aayog in New Delhi today. During the meeting, the Chief Minister highlighted Jammu & Kashmir’s development priorities, including infrastructure, employment generation, tourism, connectivity and sustainable economic growth. He also reaffirmed the Government’s commitment to people-centric governance, inclusive development and improving the quality of life of citizens across J&K.

Following on from my meeting with Defence Minister @rajnathsingh Sb, I met with Civil Aviation minister @RamMNK to discuss the proposed closure of Srinagar airport in October. We are working on possible alternatives to minimise the disruption & maintain a basic flight schedule as was done in the past when the airport closed for similar reasons in 1998 & 2010.

Chief Minister called on the Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri @narendramodi in New Delhi today and discussed key issues concerning Jammu & Kashmir, including the early restoration of statehood, state of the economy and the pace of development. Beyond passenger movement, the Chief Minister underscored the growing, vital role of the expanded rail network in boosting J&K’s local economy. The seamless and robust movement of essential freight—particularly the region's famous fruits like Cherry, Apple and cement—through the railway network has drastically optimized logistics, reduced transit costs, and opened up larger markets for local farmers and industrialists. I accompanied Hon’ble Deputy Chief Minister @Surinderch55 on a visit to various areas of Zadibal constituency to review the arrangements for Muharram. We visited Astan Mir Shams-ud-Din Iraqi, Zadibal; Imam Bara Zadibal; Gulshan Bagh Imam Bara; Soura Chowk; Bagwanpora Imam Bara; and Nawab Bagh Imambara. At Imam Bara Hassanabad, we were joined by Hon’ble MLA @salmanalisagar During the visit, the arrangements were reviewed in detail, and the Hon’ble Deputy Chief Minister issued directions to ensure that all necessary facilities and arrangements are put in place well in time. All senior officers of the concerned departments were present on the occasion.

JKNC President Dr. Farooq Abdullah visited Baba Nagri, Wangath, and paid obeisance at the revered shrine following the annual Urs of Hazrat Mian Nizam-ud-Din Kiyani (RA), which concluded yesterday. It was a pleasure to join @nitin_gadkari Sb for the breakthrough blast at the #zojilatunnel site marking a major milestone in the completion of this project. When finally completed this tunnel will change the lives of people, especially in the UT of Ladakh.

On World Bicycle Day, Chief Minister today flagged off a Cyclothon at the Royal Springs Golf Course, Srinagar, joining cyclists and youth in celebrating the spirit of fitness, healthy living and environmental awareness. The Cyclothon, organised under the “My Youth My Pride” initiative, seeks to inspire young people to embrace active lifestyles and make sports a part of their daily lives.
