ALT The title of the webinar is "Ecological perspectives on microbiomes: causes and consequences of microbial diversity." Dr. Ana E. Escalante is from the Instituto de Ecologia, Universidad Nacional Autonoma de Mexico (UNAM). The description reads: "In recent years we have come to realize the major importance of microbiomes in the functioning of any ecosystem, from soil to the human gut. Nonetheless, we still lack understanding of the underlying mechanisms that govern this biodiversity-function relationship. In this seminar I will present the fundamental basis of microbiomes from an ecological perspective , including their role in environmental health, as well as examples that try to disentangle the factor that impact microbial diversity and its functional consequence."
