Biggest logistical triumph of #paris2024Ā ? The internet coverage in the stadium tor the #closingceremony is handing all the social media posts by athletes! š¤£
Just seen @16Sreejesh will be Flag Bearer for the #Paris2024#closingceremony . Delighted for him. A man who spreads joy wherever he goes, is one of the best keepers of his generation and a man who has twice played a huge part in restoring Indiaās place on the podium. Enjoy!
Itās often said you need a bit of luck to win a major tournament. Paul van As had it in spades tonight for the womens #hockey gold medal match. Gutted for Annan who has proven what a coach she is, taking that team up from so low to so high.
The transformation for the Dutch menās #hockey team has been something else. Jeroen Delmee proved he was a talented coach with FRA, heās cemented it with NED. Olympic gold for Holland was unthinkable a few years ago. Huge well done!
If you ever were in doubt that @Max_Caldas is a top bloke the end of the game proved he is. Genuine delight for the oppo, while also being able to support his own team.
Dan Barstow of the @NPUAhockey on the menās gold medal match for video umpire is spot on. Dan has had an amazing tournament. Youād have no idea this was his first Olympics. So proud of my NPUA colleague!
Just seen Martin Madden of @ScottishHockey has been appointed for the Menās #hockey Gold Medal Match. This may well be his last international game and this is fitting. Heās been the best umpire at the tournament and has been brilliant for years. Simply put he is brilliant.
Having suffered Guillain Barre Syndrome paralysis and fought back from two instances of paralysis Iām so delighted we have role models like @LinaFJNielsen out there giving hope to those with neuro conditions & trauma. Inspiration. #gbs#paralysis#neuro
The rest of that last sentence was gonna be āā¦and now Iām an Olympianā
I can only be proud of how much I fought, both tonight and for the past 10 years of my life
Forever an Olympian š«¶š½āØ
Predictably umpires from the second #hockey semi final under fire tonight. Both semis were very well umpired. The manner in which they defused high tension, explained things & held their composure was fantastic. There are some excellent umpires in the sharp end of this tournament
Two phenomenal goalkeepers on that Deutschland v India #hockey semi. Gutted for Sreejesh who has been such an incredible ambassador for the sport. Shame someone had to lose as they say.
Ignore the ridiculous accusations of racism & bias from some Indian fans. Indiaās performances in the last two #hockey games have been exceptional. A lot to be proud of. The defensive discipline was stunning. Craig has done a great job and the team should be proud.
It needs to be said @LauraUnsworth4 has been an all time great for @GBHockey & @EnglandHockey . Sheās been a fixture in the #hockey team since 2008. She sets an exceptional standard in accountability, basics & was able to play wherever needed. She will be hugely missed. Legend.
The game was broadly speaking very well umpired. The fact it didnāt explode after the red card illustrates they did well in managing a very tense game. Ben on video was fantastic; quick, accurate and consistent. The chaps on the pitch handled the heat very well.
