One More Thing Parent group advocates for change in systems to minimize the One More Thing that parents of children with disabilities navigate every single day!
A memorial bench in honour of @GrandmaKim has been installed at Brittania beach. She loved to walk there. Loved the water. And loved people. Please visit and sit a minute.
It has been one full year since we lost OMT co-founder @GrandmaKim. We miss her so much. She was a mother, grandmother, sister, friend, fighter and advocate. She was simply amazing. đ
We are so happy to see CHEO recognize and honour our co-founder @GrandmaKim! Kim would be thrilled to know that funds have been dedicated to accessibility in her honour.

After years of living your life in survival mode, you are exhausted.
There is a difference.

Frustrated
Angry
Crying
Withdrawn.
These are natural human reactions to impossible situations of which few professionals know or see the full picture.

This is the reality of disability. It's a system that dehumanizes a person at any age. It's a system where one word, like "mild", may mean you don't get the help you need. It's a system of manufactured scarcity. It's a system that breaks you.
Wonderful piece by @Lollardfish.
