I am insulating my garage, adding a small loft for sleeping and a small wood burning stove. I am pretending that my goal is a museum quality 1900 pioneer cabin. Really I’m preparing for shtf by constructing a well insulated room that can be heated easily with firewood. Having fun

Am I not the worst photo editor? I did a germination test on my own landrace of Hopi corn. 36 hours in and 3 have germination. I intentionally stress out my corn with very sub par growing conditions, and only the best genes survive. This seed here is 4 years old. #prepper

Wis. We plant potatoes 1 mo. b4 last frost date. Remove from cold storage a month b4 planting. today. Now, the best part. These potatoes survived in a cooler in my backyard. We hit -20f. I cannot find ONE single source that suggests my technique is possible. Yet here they are.
