Want to know why I am going scorched earth on bad actors in academia? Because they've relied on ideoligical protection for years to insulate themselves from normal and necessary challenges to unethical scholarly behavior. And because they smear and bully anyone who challenges their ideological hegemony from within the university system.

Enjoy some Japanese poetry.
USA. A Mexican restaurant. We had not yet ordered anything, and the food was already arriving. Chips. Salsa. Unrequested. Free. I stopped the waiter. "We have not earned these." "They just come with the table, man." They come with the TABLE. In my land, hospitality is a debt. Every gift creates an obligation, weighed carefully, returned in the proper season with interest of feeling. Here, the gift arrives before you have even proven you can pay for dinner. This is not an appetizer. This is a declaration: we trust you. Eat. I ate with the gravity the moment deserved. And then — I must report this calmly — the basket emptied, and a new one appeared. "Did we…?" "Refill," the waiter said. "It's bottomless." Bottomless. They have wells of salsa. The supply lines of this nation are beyond anything my ancestors imagined. My friend warned me. "Don't fill up on chips, dude." Too late. I had accepted three baskets. Honor demanded each one be finished — an unfinished gift is an insult. By the time my actual food arrived, I was a ruined man. I was not hungry. I was not comfortable. I had been defeated by a courtesy. Generosity that arrives before the request cannot be repaid. It can only be survived. I know the rule now. I have made my peace with the basket. One basket. Two at the most. Who am I deceiving. There is no number of baskets I would refuse. The trust of a nation is in that salsa, and I intend to honor all of it.

“Free speech is outdated” usually means “I trust today’s censors more than yesterday’s.” But the old problem remains: If you give someone the power to decide which ideas are too dangerous to hear, don’t be shocked when that power gets used against you.

Korean man tunes into a Zoom meeting while on a roller coaster. There's no way they didn't know 😂

Community note
This video depicts a staged comedic skit by Ulsan Nam-gu officials promoting a local cart attraction, not a genuine Zoom meeting on a roller coaster. youtube.com/watch?v=pvumkI…

"Degrowth Economics" is the exact type of policy regime that will lead to poverty, famine, malnutrition, disease, and an immiserating decline in worldwide living standards. You know. All the stuff that the Degrowthers try to blame on capitalism and "neoliberalism."

The story in four parts
Last year a Scottish girl was filmed defending herself from a hostile man. The police insisted this was "misinformation", and charged the girl. A Bulgarian man has now been found guilty of assaulting a 12 year old, with the judge finding he made "sexual remarks"

ALERT: Elderly New York City transgender serial killer who rode around with his girlfriends' severed leg in his electric wheelchair will serve the rest of their life behind bars. 88-year-old Harvey Marcelin was sentenced to life without parole for the murder of his girlfriend, Susan Leyden, 68. Marcelin, who identifies as female, savagely chopped up Leydan with a reciprocating saw in his apartment in 2022. Marcelin then took Leydon's remains and dumped her torso on a street corner and rolled over to a 99 Cent store with the severed leg in his wheelchair. Marcelin has spent more than 50 years in prison, dating back to 1963, for killing 2 of his girlfriends before being let out on parole in 2019 after he promised to stay out of trouble.

Egregious complicity by Roblox. Global user IDs are one of the main tools we use to track and take action against 764 members that we find on Roblox.
I spent the past two years building a team dedicated to identifying predators and groomers on the platform. We've found over half a million and counting. This change prevents developers from banning them from their games. This update will break cross-game data stores, including ban lists. Safety systems like EASI identify accounts through user IDs. If that ID isn't consistent across games, our system can't identify them. Everyone needs to speak out against this.

Roblox's complicity towards their massive child predator problem is criminal. Not only are they fighting like hell to keep over 150 child predator lawsuits in arbitration, they are now eliminating global user IDs, which is one of the only ways we can track predators and criminal networks throughout Roblox. This will massively stunt the success of investigators who hunt child predators on Roblox, and I suspect they know that. It also prevents developers from creating ban lists and keeping known predators out of their games. Roblox doesn't care about the safety of your kids. Keep them off!

Roblox games will no longer use global User IDs, instead users will now be given a new User ID unique to each game they join.

FDLE remains committed to keeping our children, families, and communities safe from dangerous individuals like Isabelle Valdez. As part of an ongoing investigation, FDLE’s Orlando Cybercrime Task Force agents obtained a search warrant for Isabelle Valdez’s cellphone. As a result of the forensic analysis on her phone, agents located digital video files depicting the sexual abuse of children, some as young as three years old. Valdez is now facing the consequences of her actions behind bars. Read the full news release here: fdle.state.fl.us/news/2026/j…

A large part of the blame for the decline of history as a discipline is that historians have ceased to be reliable interpreters of the past. In a field where interpretation of fragmentary evidence is the central task, this is paramount. This is evident in cases like these , where the historical claims have been directly exposed. But I would add that it shows up also in the opinions some historians express on contemporary issues, where ordinary people have access to much the same evidence as the historian himself. If he reasons selectively or lets ideology drive his conclusions, anyone can see it. It is reasonable to wonder then how much of the same is present in his treatment of the past, where no one can easily check.
If a historian on the right abused evidence in this way, they'd face career ruination. When Boston University's Quinn Slobodian does it, he gets a Guggenheim fellowship, book awards, and a Hewlett Foundation grant. Academia's rot runs far deeper than a simple crisis of rigor.

🚨New 764 Member Arrested🚨 24-year-old Christian Zachary Page, who went by the 764 username "Xavier Eilux", has been indicted on federal charges of child s*xual abuse material (CSAM) in Kansas. Page was arrested in January of this year on charges of posting revenge p*rn of an adult female. Officers executed a search warrant on his devices, which contained CSAM of children and toddlers. Disappointingly, the criminal complaint makes no mention of the 764 child exploitation network, despite "Xavier Eilux" being a well known figure in the group. He was closely connected to recently arrested 764 member Aaron Corey, who used the name "Baggeth." Baggeth's Soundcloud page even credits Xavier Eilux for making his album cover art. There is tons of additional evidence against Page, including self-admissions of him extorting minors and videos of him killing cats. I contacted the State Attorney in Kansas back in January and alerted them to all of this, but it looks like they chose not to pursue further charges in connection to 764. Urging @FBIDirectorKash and @FBI_Response to look into the matter! We need harsher indictments against 764 members!
