As Kenyan youth, we cannot effectively champion legislation that advances our interests by remaining on the sidelines or merely chanting in opposition. Real change requires us to be actively involved in the decision-making process, participating in drafting policies, shaping legislation, and occupying leadership spaces where our voices can influence outcomes. It is only by being part of the transformative process that we can enact laws and policies that truly address the aspirations and challenges of the youth.

The EAC is scaling up regional efforts to respond to the ongoing Ebola outbreak and strengthen preparedness against infectious diseases. 🔹The EAC and KfW Development Bank have signed a €5 million partnership to support the response to Mpox and other highly infectious diseases while strengthening laboratory capacity across the region. 🔹Germany has also committed an additional €3 million towards Ebola response efforts. The EAC is taking deliberate steps to position the region for the opportunities presented by Artificial Intelligence (AI). As part of these efforts, the EAC Secretariat today hosted a Public Lecture on Artificial Intelligence for its staff, with support from the Indian High Commission in the United Republic of Tanzania. The session aimed at strengthening staff understanding of emerging technologies and their role in advancing regional integration and development. The session was led by Dr. Prabhu Rajagopal, Director-in-Charge and Dean of the School of Engineering Sciences at IIT Madras Zanzibar Campus, who shared insights on the growing impact of AI across various sectors. @IndiainTanzania

On 4th June 2026, I had the honour of attending a cultural exchange event between Kenya and Russia at the invitation of the @russembkenya Embassy in Nairobi. The event was graciously hosted by His Excellency Vsevolod Tkachenko, Ambassador of the Russian Federation to the Republic of Kenya, at the Braeburn Theatre in Lavington, Nairobi. The occasion celebrated the enduring cultural ties between our two nations and underscored the importance of cultural diplomacy in fostering mutual understanding, friendship, and international cooperation. A highlight of the event was the captivating performances by the renowned Folk Ensemble from St. Petersburg Russia's cultural capital and the celebrated Khokhloma artistic group. Through vibrant traditional dances, music, and artistic expression, the performers showcased the richness of Russian culture and heritage. The event also provided an opportunity to learn about the Russian language and traditions, fostering greater cultural appreciation and strengthening people-to-people connections between Kenya and Russia.
