There's a unique freedom in being a single guy with a van, able to do as I please and go where I wish. Waking up each morning, deciding how to direct my life that day, is liberating. Yet, I admit, there's a hint of fear in letting that freedom go.
However, a quote from the movie "Into the Wild" resonates deeply: βHappiness Is Only Real When Shared.β As an adventurous man, this statement struck a chord, casting a shadow of doubt over my solitary journey.
But then, I reflect on Santiago from "The Alchemist," one of my favorite books. His quest to discover his personal legend, a treasure meant solely for him, inspires me. What captivates me is his unwavering pursuit, despite not knowing what his personal legend might be, yet understanding it's a life-changing lesson.
Whenever I feel discouraged or lonely, straying from my quest for my personal legend, I recall Santiago's journey. Ending this reflection on a note of certainty in my heart, I acknowledge that I am like a pendulum, swinging between adventure and bliss, loneliness and doubt.
I remain committed to my path, trusting that my purpose will ultimately reveal itself. Additionally, I stay open to the possibility of the ideal woman who might perfectly fit into my life. However, finding such a match has proven difficult, and so, I continue my journey solo. I have many goals and dreams to accomplish, and I find myself just as excited by the journey as I am by the destination.
