i’m so confused about the way so many people take this pr shit personally. it’s not about us and it’s really not even about H&L. it’s about the industry. if you believe they are reaching out to us through lyrics and other coding, then you know that they are currently in a situation where they have to play the game publicly [whether bc they want to or bc their careers are dependent upon it atp]. they didn’t create the situation they are in, but they are the ones on the line for it. from what we know about the xfactor contracts, they can’t really just do what they want without significantly blowing up their own careers and financial situations. we came into this fandom knowing they were being screwed over and had little say when they started. and in the past 16yrs we can see that they’ve been able to make some moves to improve their situation; however, they can’t flip it all overnight or literally maybe ever. feel what you need to, but to constantly flood the tl with shit talking them bc of the people they are stunting with just isn’t fair. yes i think the z’s are shitty regardless of their affiliation to our boys. their past actions prove to me that they are not genuine relationships bc i do not believe one iota that H or L would choose to have even a real friendship with people like them. but H&L’s jobs require public images and sometimes they need to play with people they don’t like in order to get what they want. we all have to do that for our jobs to some degree but no one gives a shit if lolo in ny has to pretend to get along with her really shitty coworker. we only care bc we’ve invested our hearts into them and they aren’t showing the rest of the world who we are confident they are. that just makes me mad FOR them not mad AT them. that makes me want to show my support for them MORE not LESS. hearing L talk about how grateful he is for a fandom that sees all this shit and still stands by him is why it would take jesus himself to make me walk away from them. and even then, i’d question jesus’s motives bc all men do is lie… but who am i to say he didn’t really die and then miraculously rise 3 days later. seems plausible 🙄 yet i digress. feel your feels but if you must be loud about them, at least point your anger at the right people. i feel the same way about people who get mad at the toddler throwing a tantrum at 12am in the middle of walmart instead of rightfully being pissed at the parent who dragged their toddler to the store at midnight in the first place! anyhoo, whoever said i couldn’t connect jesus, walmart, and my extremely shitty coworker to larry in just one tweet owes me $10
