When I lived here almost 20 years ago the average European had better internet connectivity, mobile coverage and speed, and consumer technology. Today, coming back, it feels like none of that has improved since I left, and in many case gotten worse.

But also, like, 3000 years ago is not pre-history. We have endless first-hand accounts, art, legal documents, literature, poetry, etc. from this time. Itβs not like itβs some mythic time period we have reconstructed through guesswork. It was incredibly well documented.
