The real axis of robotics is value creation per unit cost at scale. This is one of Brett’s fundamental flaw in thinking. It’s not about “GDP per humanoid” Figure plays a great theatrical game, but loses the plot in the process. Current demos with BMW show package sorting, and part manipulation which were already being done with a single flipper and single arm respectively. No demo they have shown comes close to requiring a fully human form factor. Robotic form factors must come from first principles: biomechanics, energy efficiency, emergent capability. Harmonic drives are not the final joint. Feet are not the peak of mobility. AGI and material science advancement will allow many form factors to outcompete in the many tasks of real world automation. R3D3 will change the game. The bullishness of “we have it figured out, we copied human” is literal Achilles heel we will strike to front run super abundance with class. There are 2 paths. One sole government, or a government of all souls. The leverage point is replication (robotics). This is where the holy war may can be won for good. Totalitarian dreams will be realized if we the people do not buy into a future of privacy, and sovereignty. Superabundance for all will be realized if we do. Crypto popularized: "Not your keys, not your wallet." Humanity must realize: "Not open source, not your robot."

Good to see @1x_tech launch. We’re working on a unit that will beat their price point, as well as outcompete in battery life, making your life easier, for less. With the ultimate kicker being the open source community having root access to the software. In the next decade we suspect a majority of all labor will be replaced entirely. During that transition its going to be interesting (Massive wealth accumulation for existing wealth owners who position themselves inside of this, and UBI becoming a necessity for others) Thinking about how as a robotics company to provide Universal Basic Needs is something we are really interested in doing. We think government ran UBI is clearly going to fail relative to capability of robo/ai enabled servicing. It is going to be very interesting times. Our main mission at Open Droids is to constantly focus on a framework for ai/robotics that avoids dystopian failure modes. (mandate of heaven) While keeping Open Droids positioning and strategy is such that it can front run competitors. (leverage) Resulting in creating a true movement, and avoiding every home having overpowering controlled spyware. We also see crypto as a vehicle to enable unique things such as robots with sovereign identities / purpose. DAO enabled investments into robotics for niche purposes. And Open Source hardware is the best to support such an ecosystem. Beyond that, long term thinking about the future of currency leads us to a bullish recognition. While some believe BTC will become the reserve currency of the universe Yet BTC does not produce any real world value. While it represents digital gold, robotics reserve currencies represent digital labor. Programmable matter is more important than programmable money, as it builds on top of the primitive of shared ownership in a distributed immutable ledger of ownership. To us, its inevitable that an equity grade robotics ownership coin becomes bigger than bitcoin... and we do not see anyone else even contending for that spot today. We’re open-sourcing our dual-arm platform R2D3 calling all robotics devs to join the revolution that is Open Droids. R2D3 boasts a dual arm setup with lifting platform, movable head with depth camera, wrist cameras. Lidar for the wheeled base and NVIDIA Jetson Orin AGX for the GPU goodness. Just fork it and start building no limits on innovation. Tweak the URDFs, try new grippers, or even use a different simulator like Isaac.
