I fully agree with Stefano here! The detailed knowledge of concepts, their critical application, it’s exactly what many of us don’t teach anymore. Among others, because entertainment is valued over content, by the students but also our managers and recognition systems.
Stefano Stramigioli, Professor of Advanced Robotics, sent in this letter as a response to the opinion piece of Angelique Assink. He disagrees with her about what it takes to be a good teacher.

The planned budget cuts do not help at all in this struggle. The more efficient we have to get, the less time we have, the more efficient assessment formats we choose - the worse it will get.
