I get asked more and more about how to break into data engineering, especially from data scientists who discover their love for coding. I want to provide some pointers in this thread. 1/
Write about what you learn. It pushes you to understand topics better.
Sometimes the gaps in your knowledge only become clear when you try explaining things to others. It's OK if no one reads what you write. You get a lot out of just doing it for *you*.
Want to switch into tech but not sure whatβs the best path? π€
Here we come with our online panel! Join us on May 19th, when we will host 4 panelists who successfully switched and make sure all your questions are answered πͺπΌ

π One of the hardest thing software engineers have to do continuously is to decide what level of code quality is appropriate for the task given.
You need to consider the bigger picture. It also comes with experience.
i keep refactoring instead of actually coding so i wrote "Perfect Is The Enemy Of Good" on my whiteboard but had to rewrite it because the G looked weird
We are proud to present to you our new OTS Website:

if you are stuck at any problem for longer then an hour please take a break/nap and get back to it later
you will get the solution in less then 5min π
This really works for me all the time and should be for most of the people :)
Forms are really a lot of work to implement and hard to get right. State management, error handling/validation, UX...
For most people in the process they are trivial and boring and we often don't get recognized for our achievements here.
Congrats!
Finished my first big React Redux form this week, which was INSANE. Feeling proud!
I've been working on this ticket almost ever since the #COVID19#WFO phase started, so now they'll always be connected in my mind somehow.
Wir sind nun im @OpenTechSchool assembly untergekommen \o/. Wer uns auf dem #36c3 besuchen mΓΆchte, kann in der @c3nav App nach dem Assembly suchen. Wir freuen uns :-).
