A HUGE thankyou to all the staff and pupils at Kirkbymoorside Community Primary School for allowing us to come in this morning and speak to the whole school about Active Travel and how to stay safe when walking, wheeling and cycling. We thoroughly enjoyed our time here.

This week is National Walk to School Week and we will be beginning our week at Glusburn Community Primary and Nursery School. We are really looking forward to meeting all the children and their families who walk to school this morning.

Last week we were lucky enough to support all the children from Terrington C of E Primary School with a whole school road safety assembly as well as balance bike sessions for EYFS and Reception children. Well done to all the children involved.

We thoroughly enjoyed working with the EYFS, KS1 children at Green Hammerton Primary School. We were able to discuss Active Travel and how to keep safe when walking, cycling or scooting. Spike Junior even made his road safety debut!

We were also able to visit all the children at Langton this week to discuss the importance of Active Travel and how to stay safe when walking, cycling and scooting. We really enjoyed discussing how to stay safe and getting all the feedback from the children.

This week we have had the opportunity to support EYFS and Reception children @Langton Primary School with balance bike taster sessions. It was such a fun day for everyone involved and by the end of the sessions every single child could glide without any support.

We are really pleased to announce that as part of our Xplorer family walking challenges this year we will be adding a brand-new venue. Each year we deliver events in Harrogate, Skipton, Filey, Whitby and from August 2026 we can add Skipton Park to these events. @BritishOriente1

Our next Walk to School Day will be on Monday 2nd March at Foston CE Primary School and we will be following this with a whole school assembly about keeping safe whilst walking, cycling and scooting. We are really looking forward to meeting all the children and their families.

We would like to say a HUGE WELL DONE to Malton Primary Academy for once again achieving Outstanding status for their Team ModeshiftTravel Plan. Malton Primary Academy work very hard to continually increase levels of walking, cycling and using other forms of sustainable travel.
