That said, I want to point out that there’s nothing wrong with “drawing over” an image as long as you’re not simply tracing it
If you’re drawing your own ver on top, there’s nothing wrong with that - as long as you have the skill and intuition to avoid tracing the lines exactly
Ok now I’m actually curious, I thought we all learned to use references this way? I didn’t know people were just using the second step
