Just some of the diversity of soft fruit as selected by Wouter van Teeffelen @mijnfruitboom in the Netherlands.
Kleinfruit, de keuze is reuze! En dan mis ik nog een aantal "berries" zoals honingbes, blauwe bes, de gele framboos, vossenbes, cranberry, Japanse wijnbes, kiwibes en bosbes. Nog aanvullingen?

Apples have recently become a Christmas icon China. Exquisitely wrapped apples with images of Santa Claus etc. Apples are everywhere, they are sold everywhere from swanky shopping malls to the back of trucks at makeshift night markets. Pingguo, a homophone for “peace fruit.”

Christmassy thing #14. Before there was plum pudding there was plum pottage. Here's a recipe from the blog that I made for a TV show a few years ago now. It was good! britishfoodhistory.com/2020/…

'Barnack Beauty', a delicious dessert apple, local to me, illustrated in 1921 by Arthur Rackham for Eden Phillpotts's whimsical 'A Dish of Apples'. "Not until every leaf has flown Will he desert his summer throne."
