Too much tree felling (like pic below) goes on in Haringey from developers, insurance claims - the tree dept needs closer scrutiny on the way it treats TPO trees like Townsend Yard, N6. They will find it hard to achieve 30% more canopy cover...@mikehakata @perayahmet

Surely @wfcouncil cannot continue with its plan to destroy 70 mature trees at Orient Way Pocket Park?! #WeNeedTrees #ClimateEmergency @OrientSave

Inspectors seriously concerned about @wfcouncil @AhsanKhan_wf building plans incl. #airquality #floodrisk #tallbuildings & rate of building. @MayorofLondon @SadiqKhan @LDN_environment You can STOP the foolhardy scheme to destroy #OrientWayPocketPark and build up to 26 storeys!
Government inspectors have raised 'significant concerns' about the rate of new homes planned for the borough walthamforestecho.co.uk/gove…

So @wfcouncil’s Lea Bridge Station development which is not compliant on tall buildings and affordable housing is almost certainly illegal! But @GracieMaeW, @Labourstone and @WFLabourParty call critics NIMBYs and @LeytonLabour block them! @LeeValleyPark lacked courage to object!
Thank you to everyone who responded to the Local Plan 2 for #WalthamForest. The Planning Inspectors have found that the current plan is neither fully legally compliant nor sound regarding tall buildings, flooding risk & inflated housing targets, echoing: saveleamarshes.org.uk/2022/0…

Just highlights how planting new trees results in many trees dying. Better therefore not to cut down existing established trees as at @OrientSave Pocket Park!

'But it's only one tree.' But just 1 tree becomes another tree & another, gradually eroding...from 2013 to 2017 London lost 50,000 Street trees. eandt.theiet.org/content/art……We have no London figures yet for 2017-2022 but will be similar or worse. Haringey since 2008, 2616 trees.

We can also vote for active people/parties #Independent #Green #TUSC who stand up for #WalthamForest residents. @WFLabourParty have delivered for cabinet over people @CllrCoghill #LeaBridgeStationSites @LeytonLabour #SimonMiller #LeaBridgeLibrary & @Labourstone @StopTheRebuild..
Tomorrow you have a chance to vote for a Labour Council that is proven to deliver for you. From supporting you through the Tory cost-of-living crisis, to tackling the climate emergency. We have invested and improved our libraries, and taken action against rogue landlords.

The trees in #OrientWayPocketPark slowed the flood waters in #LeaBridge last summer. Doesn't it therefore make sense to maintain them and help this little maturing woodland to thrive? @MayorofLondon @SadiqKhan @LDN_environment
Woods increase a floodplain’s capacity to store and slow floodwaters, reducing flood peaks 💧 Visit gov.uk/guidance/tree-plantin… for details of woodland creation grants and support. #WoodsAndWater

Silence from @wfcouncil @LeytonLabour & our leader @GracieMaeW which is surprising because they have declared a #ClimateEmergency and pledged to "learn from their mistakes" regarding mis-management of our trees. 🙄 @ForestryComm
Where are @wfcouncil @LeytonLabour @GracieMaeW?

Really @Labourstone ? Your contractors have finessed themselves with this-shame on them for pollarding trees with ACTIVE NESTS! Where was the risk to human life if this tree was just left well alone during nesting season?!
It is nesting season, these trees have VISIBLE NESTS 🪺🕊. This is illegal. Why is this happening ? @LeytonLabour @Labourstone 🌳 🪚

@labourstone no one has with- drawn from this site please look at this image of the fully pollarded tree with a huge birds nest in it. Lea Bridge Road, outside BB cafe. This breaks the Wildlife & Countryside Act! @ForestryComm

Representation is better when it’s local too @wfcouncil… as the only Lea Bridge candidate who actually lives in the ward, I couldn’t agree more… #LocalAndVocal #Solene4LeaBridge #VoteIndependent

Promoting active transport is great @WFLabourParty but why not STOP cutting down #MatureTrees and planning #unsustainable #towers around the Marshes? @GracieMaeW your comments at last nights' hustings showed that you really don't understand the #LeaBridge community..... 1/3
Replying to @wfcycling
Climate safety?! @wfcouncil @WFLabourParty are building tower blocks all along the Marshes, planning massive development at New Spitalfields on flood plain next to Hackney Marshes, cutting down @OrientSave pocket park

"Lea Bridge Home Owners" welcome new neighbours & are NOT "against housing". We (renters & owners, new & long-term residents alike) are fighting for #CleanAir #GreenSpace #MatureTrees #Biodiversity #ClimateChange prevention, Preservation of #nature & existing #ecosystems

@GracieMaeW statements about #LeaBridge were an insult to campaigners who've spent time &energy campaigning against #TOXIC #HAZARDS for the health of ALL. Please stop using a tired, inaccuarate 50 yr-old fob off & actively engage (unlike our ward cllrs) with #LeaBridge residents
