The GCG committee got together for our annual Burlington House-based hybrid meeting yesterday! It was lovely for some of the committee to reunite in-person, and take in the beautiful home of the Geological Society of London.

This will serve as a 'call to arms' for those in our community to present and discuss the public and scientific benefits of our collections. We are seeking presentations that demonstrate the value of collections, and case studies of when advocacy has, or hasn't, been effective.

Please send abstracts of <250 words to events@geocollections.org stating oral or poster presentation. The deadline for abstract submission is July 31st 2026. The meeting will be held at Manchester Museum on November 18th with a field trip and collection tours on November 19th.
