I will not stop fighting for fair sport & equality of opportunity for female athletes until every female, no matter if elite or grass roots gets treated with respect. Why do we have women sports categories = Purely to offer sport away from male advantage. ANY male in OUR sports category is cheating.
After completing my run this morning, feeling already depleted because of my bad time, I opened my phone to this. I can handle most things, but sometimes it adds to an already heavy load you are carrying.
What a day we had @CommsReboot yesterday with the energetic @mrsjennifield and her unconference crew in London! Talking all things IC and sector specific, it was enlightening to be amongst my tribe!
Angry man in a frock says you'll need to arm yourself up if you want to stop his using the ladies' bathroom.
I can't imagine why women don't want these men using their facilities. It's a complete mystery π
I have never felt so let down by progressive governments as I do now, for not standing up for womenβs rights. Rights previous generations have fought tooth & nail for. Rights based on our sex (not our cloths!) & what discrimination it actually brings.
We will never get tired of sharing this
NHS porters rarely get a mention, but they are doing an absolutely heroic job right now to keep our hospitals moving
Please spare a RT for all of them
This is Frank and he has had a coffee stand at the top of the steps at Bethnal Green tube for as long as I can remember.
When the new restaurant/coffee shop next door opened along with another high street outlet opening across the street, Frank suddenly found that his license from the council had been revoked and he was chucked off his stand.
I believe it was to make way for these new shops to take his regular custom. They didnβt need him in the way of gaining maximum profit... so Frank was gone.
Well the locals were having none of it and a petition started demanding his return.
How dare they do this to him.
How dare these people smash his business and leave him with nothing.
After a lot of pressure the council backed down and Frank had his licence and pitch returned to him but sadly by that time Frank had sold his equipment to feed his family and try to survive.
So the good people of Bethnal Green started crowdfunding and hereβs the result... Frank back in business on his old pitch with brand new equipment and even a little hut now to shelter him from the rain... Brilliant!!
He is truly the happiest man in East London and itβs wonderful to see.
It really does show that if we all stick together, stand up to them and just say no... the little guy can win.
If youβre in Bethnal Green come and have a coffee with this lovely man. π§‘
