Tyler Ostmeyer of Decatur Community surpassed 1,000 career points last night in a 46-40 win over Hill City. Ostmeyer had 9 points, 7 rebounds, and 3 blocks in the win. Ostmeyer is a multiple time SIK All-State pick standing at 6’6 as one of the top forwards in 1A. #sportsinkansas

SIK Basketball Player to Watch: Tyler Ostmeyer enters his senior season at Decatur Community as one of 1A’s most productive forwards, bringing a 6’6”, 220-pound frame and multi-sport toughness that shows up every night. After averaging 17 points, 11.2 rebounds, 2 assists, and 2.2 blocks as a junior, he now sits at 926 career points, 605 rebounds, 132 assists, and 122 blocks. With four starters returning, including fellow impact player Gage Williby, Decatur Community could be a team to look out for this winter. “I’m excited for this upcoming season because we’re returning four of our five starters. This team has big goals and we’re looking forward to being competitive,” he said.
