Good Morning, I'm Chris and this week I'll be posting from Hadleigh Baptist Church in Suffolk giving you a taste of the ways we try to serve Jesus in our town. If you want to know more about us this is us!

This Sunday we start a series in Hadleigh in the Gospel of John. My guess is that this week has increased the number of people praying for us as a church. My prayer is that the effectiveness of those prayers in blessing me in preparation is reflected on Sunday. Thanks everyone!
Today we run "The Coffee Lounge". This began life as a warm space where we opened up the church to serve the community. We offer free tea/coffee, a selection of cakes and lunches and a seek to engage with people in a friendly way about life and faith.
On Weds nights we run a football evening on the local school's astroturf. It's grown from a handful of church guys struggling to make 4 a-side to regularly getting 20 people coming along. Most don't come to church, but we're hoping for some good conversations in the coming weeks
As a group, we're going to be doing a coastal walk in May to raise money for Gt Ormond Street and Cancer Research. One of the members of the group sadly lost his wife to cancer last year and another has a tenacious daughter facing some major operations.
We hope while walking, and staying together we can deepen friendships and have some meaningful conversations about life and faith. You can read about Jessie's condition and Niki and Mark's story here justgiving.com/crowdfunding/…
Like many churches, since the pandemic we stream our services so that those unwell, or unable to gather to worship can feel part of the fellowship. While 'online' isn't the same as being present it serves a vital function and we usually have 20 devices watching each week.
Most weeks we end up engaging by email with someone in the world who has stumbled across us, and for some reason found what they watched online helpful.
In our church, we have small groups where we try to connect our faith in Jesus with all of our lives, care for one another and build deep relationships. Tonight we begin this series put together by @liccltd designed to help us become more like Jesus
One of the things that has come through with real clarity for me in the last few days is that a lot of the work a local church does is often relatively unseen, usually non-glamourous and in the main non-shareable
This was supposed to be posted this morning, but a broken starter motor scuppered things somewhat. I know previous posters on here have extolled the virtues of coffee. This is my position on the matter. Tea. Every. Time.
This morning, we dedicated little Elsie-Rose to God, grieved with a family who lost their beloved Father and Grandfather and prayed for a lady who received sad news about her health on Friday morning. "Rejoice with those who rejoice, weep with those who weep."
If anyone has any questions about setting up community groups at the church for the purpose do sharing the gospel, or establishing a culture/strategy of evangelism then feel free to contact me on my twitter account @sneal_uk
After the Question time we wrapped up the youth weekend.
And that's about it for my turn manning this twitter account. Thank you so much for following on and I hope it was encouraging/interesting.
Keep looking to how you can reach your community and be pointing them to Jesus.
It's dinner time now before we finish our time together with a Q&A.
We have used the free Web app 'slido' for the questions where people can submit anonymously but also up vote each other's questions.
Here is a sample of the questions asked.
