My favorite drinking story was throwing up in my car from too many whiskey sours sophomore year of college and STILL didn't realize how often I was driving drunk until I moved to NYC and took the subway home from the club at 4am the first time.

And now that I've been in NYC at bottomless brunch, happy hour, free champagne gallery openings, etc. for 15 years, I can't imagine moving to a car city and trying to figure out how to get home from a night out.

I just got back from Atlanta and since I have no frame of reference for how many drinks someone can have and still drive, I'm like a hall monitor anytime someone orders a drink at dinner.
"Aren't you driving? Are you sure you need that?"
I get annoying so quick.

Pedro Zamora died 30 years ago today. I’ve been thinking about this post for awhile, and I had hoped/assumed it would be a little more “celebratory.”
