Reminding me of the asymmetric rotor model developed for the PhD, many moons ago. Extreme ellipse on the momentum sphere shows flipping of the intermediate axis of rotation. Used to demo with a banana, flipping every half rotation about the mid inertial axis... #omg #peakgeek

...Much too young!
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing, following a brief illness, of Terry, our beautiful friend, brother and one of the most brilliant singers, songwriters and lyricists this country has ever produced. (1/4)

Congrats Lorna, now Dr Brigham! Ace research and a well-crafted thesis. Thanks for all the hard work making movies of ping-ponging plasmofluidic flows and pretty perovskite particle plumes! Go celebrate and all the best for the future! #doctoratedone #sciencesoars
Congratulations to Dr Lorna Brigham after passing her PhD viva! 🍾🎓👏 Good luck for the future from everyone in the Chemistry Dept @SussexLifeSci

One more for good measure... RIP J. Lovelock #ClimateCrisis

"An inefficient virus kills its host. A clever virus stays with it.", J. Lovelock. The kids are now the clever ones. So that makes "Generation Z, the New Phage therapy for Gaia" #wordplaywince #climatestrike @IPCC @UNFCCC @GretaThunberg @CoolBrighton

Worth a rt with another fitting Lovelock quote ahead of lockdown "Climate change now represents so urgent a threat to mankind that the only way to deal with it is by suspending democracy." Add Covid to that. #climatecovidcrises #StayAtHomeSaveLives #NHSThankYou

Happy 101 Mr Lovelock. Always good for a quote... "An inefficient virus kills its host. A clever virus stays with it." ...and he's not calling out Covid. Let's be more clever with Gaia. #ClimateAction

In respect to the late great James Lovelock, a great scientist, thinker and good for a quote #ClimateActionNow

Happy 100th to J. Lovelock. Belated but an excuse to quote "...we are a species with schizoid tendencies, and like an old lady who has to share her house with a growing and destructive group of teenagers, Gaia grows angry, and if they do not mend their ways she will evict them."
