Hello, on the left is how a liver looks like when you challenge it with alcohol. On the right is a part of normal liver from a young donor (representational) which went in to save the patient. The large ugly lump on the liver on the left is cancer. The little black and dark brown bumps are "cirrhotic nodules" which are formed when this fantastic organ tries to forgive you and regenerate, but fails because it keeps getting insulted with a socially accepted poison that breaks its limits.
This patient had diabetes and consumed 4 drinks (each 60ml) per week for 3 years. You dont need to consume "lots" of alcohol for your liver to turn into the one on left one day. You have a choice. Everyone has a choice. Make the right one.
