🇬🇷 Delighted that the PACE Committee on Equality and Non-Discrimination has approved my report on Eliminating gender stereotypes in the media. The report addresses how stereotypes fuel discrimination, online abuse, sexist hate speech and disinformation, while limiting women's participation in public and political life. It calls for stronger action against deepfakes and gender-based online violence, greater transparency of social media algorithms, and better media literacy across Europe. A fact-finding visit to Ireland and close co-operation with civil society, including Ukraine’s Women in Media NGO, helped shape important recommendations on protecting women journalists and public figures from digital attacks. Two of my reports were adopted by @PACE_News today—strengthening the fight against violence against women. The Istanbul Convention saves lives, but treaties do not implement themselves. We need full enforcement—and we must defeat disinformation. And on consent, the truth is simple: laws must change, but culture must change with them.

This week @PACE_News has adopted the resolution “Violence and hate speech against politicians: a threat to democracy” — with 122 votes in favor! I had the honor to present the opinion from the @PACE_Equality during the debate. 📍This is about a very real and growing problem: threats, harassment, doxxing, deepfakes and manipulative content used to silence and push people out of politics – undermining democratic participation itself. 👉 Importantly, we also highlighted how such aggression is often fueled by external interference and hybrid warfare. For Ukraine, this is not abstract, we see every day how disinformation and hate are weaponized. Now the key task is implementation!💪 #PACEspring2026
