Hi Em, We are working with Hampshire County Council and Southampton City Council to build new facility which will be able to sort many more materials, including glass, cartons, foil and other plastics. The new facility is planned to be operational around 2025.

Four of our refuse trucks were out of action today due to heavy rain affecting the electrics. As a result some streets have been missed - we're sorry!
If it was your rubbish/recycling day today & your bins weren't collected, put them out again tomorrow & the crew will return.

Please note, there will be no vehicular access to The D-Day Story this weekend (15 and 16 October) and the car park will be closed due to road closures for the Great South Run. But the museum will be open as normal to visitors, from 10am to 5pm.

Do you live in Gladys Ave, London Ave, North End Ave area? The crew can't get to these roads as Gladys Avenue is being resurfaced. They'll return tomorrow around 7am to collect before road work starts again. If affected, please put bins back out for 7am ready for collection.

We're sorry! On Sat, 24 Sept, we couldn't collect the recycling that was postponed due to the unprecedented bank holiday. Keep your recycling until the next collection, this Fri 7 Oct. We'll take the extra - just put it in a cardboard box next to your recycling bin. Thanks!

Public computers in our libraries & community centres, Carers Centre & some housing offices, are not available at the moment. There is an external technical problem and we're urgently seeking a fix. Our libraries still offer a printing service from phones, tablets or laptops.
