ALT Organized by the Indian Federation of Animal Health Companies (INFAH) at the India Habitat Centre, New Delhi, the seminar served as a premier platform for veterinary industry leaders. During his Expert Lecture, Dr. Singh highlighted, the crucial role of PCIM&H in maintaining quality standards for ASU&H drugs. Also, he shared a forward-looking vision of PCIM&H for Ayurveda and other traditional veterinary medicines, underlining the growing importance of integrating traditional medicine into animal healthcare and nutrition to boost innovation and leadership. He shared a forward-looking vision of PCIM&H remains committed to fostering innovation, ensuring safety, and driving quality standards to support the ease of doing business in the traditional medicine sector.

ALT The session focused on the principles and applications of High-Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC), instrumentation, analytical method development, and practical aspects of chromatographic analysis. A live demonstration of HPLC operation was conducted, providing participants with hands-on experience in sample preparation, instrument handling, chromatographic data acquisition, and interpretation of analytical results.

ALT DNA fingerprinting technique will be widely used for authentication of plant species of medicinal importance. This will be especially useful in authentication of frequently substituted, adulterated, processed or unprocessed drugs of medicinal plants. DNA-based tools for authentication of medicinal plants will be evolving a new pharmacognostic measure aimed at quality control and quality assurance in medicinal plant research. These markers will have most effective utility in quality control of commercially important medicinal herbs which are adulterated. The facility will prove to be an efficient, precise and sensitive method for identifying components for Churnas that has been established and will contribute significantly in quality control as the DNA sequences are very highly specific, they can be identified with the help of the known molecular markers in the future. This tool will have an advanced potential to speed up the discovery of the thousands of plant species yet to be named.

ALT The DNA fingerprinting and barcoding facility was established to provide fingerprinting for the herbal plant drugs with the help of the inhouse instruments like Polymerase Chain Reaction, Agarose gel Electrophoresis and Gel documentation system. The facility has identified DNA marker-based technology for establishing and strengthening the quality of the herbal plant drugs.

ALT The laboratory is established with advanced research instruments such as microplate reader with fluorescence and luminescence facility, stereo zoom microscope, zebrafish housing unit and molecular modeling software. This newly developed research facilities in PCIM&H will be focused for the strengthening pharmacological research on Indian systems of medicine and its phytoconstituents by integrating in silico, in vitro and in vivo studies by reverse and system pharmacological approaches under one roof for documenting the scientific data for evidenced-based Indian medicine and its standardization prospective with pharmacological marker

ALT The laboratory has been established as a state-of-the-art facility, providing advanced analytical infrastructure for physico-chemical and phytochemical testing. It houses instruments such as a Digital Densitometer with aerosol adapter, Digital Refractometer, and Polarimeter, along with a UV–Visible (UV–Vis) Spectrophotometer, while an HPLC with PDA (Photodiode Array) detector system will be added and HPTLC (High-Performance Thin-Layer Chromatography) facility will also be added in future to further enhance advanced analytical capabilities. These facilities enable precise analysis of quality parameters and strengthen scientific standardization, quality assurance, and analytical support for ASU&H drug testing under one roof.

ALT Dr. A Jayanthy, PSO(Phg), welcomed the guest and participants. As part of the program, a 'Plantation Drive' was held in the herbal garden, Pocket-3 area of PCIM&H. Chief guest planted a Kachnar (Bauhinia variegata) and Karanj (Pongamia pinnata) sapling. After that officials/staff of PCIM&H also planted saplings of medicinal plants. An awareness program was also conducted in the Dhanwantari Auditorium at pocket-2 of PCIM&H. The event was coordinated by Dr. Deepthi, and it ended with a vote of thanks extended by Dr. Nitin Rai. This initiative at PCIM&H serves as a responsibility to protect our environment.

They also visited key resource facilities such as the Herbal Garden, Green House, Poly House, and Regional Raw Drug Repository. ALT Practical & Interactive Sessions After lectures, valedictory session has been chaired by the Chief Guest Dr. Maneesha Upendra Kothekar, Chairperson, National Commission of Indian System of Medicine and Guest of Honour Shri. Pramod Kumar Pathak, Principal Consultant & Retd. Special secretary, Ministry of Ayush and Dr. Raman Mohan Singh, Director, PCIM&H. The certificates along with pen drives which conclude PPT of lectures have been distributed to all the participants.

Practical & Interactive Sessions Following the lecture sessions, participants engaged in hands-on training in the Microbiology laboratories, with a focus on instrumentation techniques. This practical training provided them with valuable exposure to microbiological methods used in the standardization of ASU&H drugs.

Vijaya Kumar, SO (Siddha), PCIM&H Industry Visit: In the Second half of the day, participants undertook a field visit to two reputed pharmaceutical manufacturing units: · Dr. Willmar Schwabe India Pvt. Ltd., Noida · Hamdard Laboratories (India), Ghaziabad These visits provided hands-on exposure to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) being followed in the production of Homoeopathic and Unani medicines respectively. Participants observed various stages of drug manufacturing, quality control, packaging, and storage, gaining practical insights into compliance with regulatory standards.

Ltd. Following the lectures, participants took part in hands-on training in Chemistry laboratory to understand the methods used in the testing of ASU&H drugs. Yoga break will also be conducted before the lunch to refresh the participants during the sessions.
