Old Kitchen ➡️ Mr. Burge's Ag Room Demo work has started in the old kitchen. This area is being remodeled and repurposed for Mr. Burge's Ag Room ( easy access to Animal Learning Lab), restrooms, storage and a space for Mrs. Lehl to continue her instrument repair work.

Ag Room Shop Update: Items are being moved to prep for fresh coats of paint in Mrs. Balcom's Room (formerly Mr. Babbitt's Room) as well as the welding area and wood shop. #plainsmenpride

Pressbox Update: ✔️new, reinforced box ✔️additional windows ✔️platform metal rails The addition of a Hudl Focus camera for streaming/filming, will free up all sorts of space. The metal railing was repurposed from the Pritchett Gym deck. It adds extra safety for those up top.

PCS is proud to announce the addition of the JAG Nebraska program to our curriculum. JAG (Jobs for America’s Graduates) is a for-credit elective designed to help students overcome challenges and achieve personal and career success after high school. Through project-based learning, mentorship and career exploration, JAG empowers students to build essential life and professional skills. Students in grades 7–12 will have the opportunity to take JAG classes. This initiative, supported by United Way of the Midlands, aligns with our commitment to providing every student with opportunities to thrive academically and personally. PCS was honored as Nebraska’s 2025-2026 Outstanding Secondary Agricultural Program by the Nebraska Agricultural Educators Association. The award recognizes programs that demonstrate exceptional growth and achievement over the past five years through innovative classroom instruction, experiential learning opportunities, FFA involvement and strong community partnerships. Current ag teacher Seth Burge, retiring ag teacher Doug Babbitt, and incoming ag teacher Che Balcom were on hand at the Nebraska Career Education Conference this week to accept the award. #CTE #plainsmenpride

It’s #ThrowbackThursday. The PCS Jr/Sr HS as we know it now looked much different 💯 years ago. The classroom picture of girls sewing was taken in 1926. At that time, the “old” portion of the building (2nd picture) had windows on the south side of the 2nd and 3rd story SE classrooms (as seen in the 1st picture). When the building was expanded in 1938, those windows were replaced by bricks, and windows were added to the E sides of those same rooms. Today, this same classroom (circled in the 2nd picture) is used by Mrs. Lehl for extra section of JH and HS math). #honoringourpast #perkinscountyplainsmen

In honor of America’s 250th anniversary, The Archway in Kearney, NE, is hosting a festival called “The Big 250.” This collage, created by Lauren Bishop during her Independent Art class this past school year, was selected for their Americana art exhibition.
