The CEO PECTAA, Muhammad Musa Ali Bokhari (PAS), was awarded a Certificate of Appreciation by the School Education Department Punjab for his leadership and administrative oversight in the successful conduct of the Grade 8 Annual Assessment 2025–26. During the policy dialogue held in Multan today, he participated in a panel discussion alongside Minister for School Education Rana Sikandar Hayat, Secretary School Education Department Mudassir Riaz Malik, and the Chief of UNICEF, focusing on the role of assessments in improving learning outcomes. The event was attended by parliamentary representatives, district education leadership, teachers, and students. Top-performing Grade 8 students were also awarded certificates and laptops in recognition of their outstanding achievements.

A meeting on the British Council’s ILMpact programme was held at PECTAA to discuss key priorities for strengthening education in Punjab. Discussions focused on instructional leadership, child safeguarding, pedagogy, remedial learning, and future training initiatives for teachers and school leaders. PECTAA extended its support to the programme and reaffirmed its commitment to collaborative efforts aimed at improving learning outcomes across the province. CEO PECTAA interacted with participants of the 19th–20th Promotion Linked Training (PLT) batch during a special session at PECTAA. Addressing the participants, he emphasized the importance of continuous professional growth and open feedback in strengthening training outcomes. Participants were encouraged to candidly share any gaps, challenges, or suggestions for improvement so that the training programme can be made more effective, relevant, and impactful for future cohorts.

Day 4 and final day of the Large Scale Assessment (LSA) continued successfully across Punjab. CEO PECTAA visited schools for on-ground supervision to monitor the smooth, transparent, and efficient conduct of the assessment process. The visit focused on reviewing arrangements, interacting with field staff, and ensuring quality standards were maintained till the final day.

In line with the vision of the Chief Minister Punjab and the Minister for Education, a productive meeting was held with representatives from Huawei to explore avenues of mutual collaboration in advancing Artificial Intelligence within Punjab’s education sector. The meeting was chaired by the Honourable Minister for Education and attended by Madam Nausheen Adnan, Parliamentary Secretary for School Education; Mr. Muzammil Mehmood, Chairman CM Task Force; and Muhammad Musa Ali Bokhari, CEO PECTAA. The Huawei delegation included Mr. Yang Binglu, Mr. Wang Hank, Mr. Malik Shoaib (CTO), and Mr. Irfan Akhtar. Discussions focused on leveraging emerging AI technologies to strengthen the education ecosystem, enhance digital learning opportunities, and explore innovative partnerships for future-ready education in Punjab

Day 3 of Punjab’s Large Scale Assessment is underway with continued momentum across the province. CEO PECTAA, Muhammad Musa Ali Bokhari, visited assessment centres for on-ground supervision to review arrangements, monitor implementation and ensure the smooth and transparent conduct of the assessment process. The province-wide exercise reflects PECTAA’s commitment to quality assessment, accountability and evidence-based improvement in education, ensuring that standards are upheld at every level.

CEO PECTAA visited schools across Punjab on May 11 & 12 to oversee the ongoing Large Scale Assessment (LSA). A unique feature of this assessment is that students and teachers both attempt the same paper and the difference in their scores is analyzed to identify gaps in teacher content knowledge which helps informing future training priorities and gap analysis. The LSA is sample-based and low-stakes for students, but a vital tool for system-level policy decisions.

Participants undergoing promotion-linked training at PECTAA visited the prestigious Aitchison College, Lahore today as part of an initiative aimed at enabling government school personnel to observe high-performing institutions and draw inspiration from their best practices for implementation in their own schools. During the visit, the participants explored various sections of the institution, gaining firsthand exposure to its academic environment, state-of-the-art infrastructure and exemplary educational practices that have established Aitchison College as one of Pakistan’s leading institutions. The participants also attended an enriching session on “Building School Narrative,” conducted by Miss Tina Hameed. The session shed light on the significance of cultivating a positive institutional identity, communicating school values effectively, and fostering a strong culture of learning and leadership — key elements that government schools can adopt to elevate their own institutional standards. PECTAA extends its sincere gratitude to the management and staff of Aitchison College for graciously hosting the participants and for their generous support in making this visit a truly valuable and memorable learning experience.

Vice Chancellor of Lahore College for Women University, Dr Uzma Quraishi, visited PECTAA in connection with the Promotion Linked Training (PLT) programme. During the visit, CEO PECTAA, Muhammad Musa Ali Bokhari, met with the Vice Chancellor and discussed avenues of mutual collaboration between both institutions. Matters relating to academic cooperation, capacity building, and potential internship opportunities for students were deliberated upon to promote practical learning and institutional linkages.

Chairman Muttehida Ulema Board, Mufti Intikhab Ahmad Noori, called on CEO PECTAA, Muhammad Musa Ali Bokhari, at PECTAA to discuss matters of mutual interest. The meeting focused on Islamiat curriculum, academic content and various educational materials to be referred to the Muttehida Ulema Board for review and guidance. Both sides also discussed strengthening coordination between the institutions to ensure quality, authenticity and effective implementation of curriculum-related matters.

In accordance with the vision of the Chief Minister Punjab and Minister for Education, a consultative meeting was held at PECTAA under the chairmanship of CEO PECTAA, Muhammad Musa Ali Bokhari, with owners and representatives of leading paper mills. The meeting deliberated upon international practices regarding the use of recycled and virgin paper in educational publishing, while also discussing the cost-benefit analysis, sustainability aspects, environmental considerations and quality standards associated with both categories of paper. Various proposals and global models were reviewed to explore economically viable and environmentally responsible solutions for the education sector of Punjab.

A Pre-Authority Meeting of Punjab Education, Curriculum, Training and Assessment Authority was convened by the CEO PECTAA to deliberate on key agenda items ahead of the upcoming Authority session. The meeting focused on reviewing critical proposals related to curriculum reform, assessment improvements, teacher training initiatives, and ongoing institutional developments. Important matters of policy and implementation were thoroughly examined to ensure informed decision-making at the Authority level.

CEO PECTAA chaired a province-wide meeting with Principals of all District PECTAA offices. The session focused on introductions, understanding district-level structures, and taking stock of on-ground capacity across the system.

PLT (BS 19–20) Day 22 – Session 1 Diversity & Third Gender Inclusion The First session of Day 22 focused on Diversity and Third Gender Inclusion, and was facilitated by Prof. Dr. Tayyaba Tamim from LUMS. The session provided a comprehensive understanding of diversity within educational contexts, with particular emphasis on the inclusion of individuals identifying as the third gender. Dr. Tamim highlighted the significance of fostering inclusive learning environments where all students, regardless of their gender identity or background, feel respected, valued, and supported. The discussion underscored the social, cultural, and institutional challenges faced by marginalized groups, especially the third gender, including issues of discrimination, limited access to opportunities, and lack of representation within mainstream education systems. The session further emphasized the critical role of educators and school leaders in addressing these challenges by promoting values of equality, empathy, and respect. Participants were encouraged to adopt inclusive teaching practices, challenge biases, and cultivate a school culture that celebrates diversity. Practical strategies were also discussed to ensure safe and supportive spaces for all learners, enabling them to participate fully and confidently in the educational process. Overall, the session reinforced the importance of inclusive education as a fundamental component of equitable and progressive schooling.
